ARUBA ~~Day 1~~ Up at 4 a.m. got ready, rechecked my packing list for the 84th time   Woke the children up at 5:20 to say good-bye....Benjamin and Gregory quickly went back to bed.Jessica was trying really hard not to cry as she sat on the hallway floor and watched me finish getting ready .I sat down next to her to try somehow to console her and the flood gates opened   Calmed her down a little by allowing her to come to the airport with us And by giving her a list of chores to do for $$$ and a special present when I got home Got to the airport before Jay and his family checked in my luggage they arrived shortly afterwards Gave Greg and Jessica one last bib hug and away we went :!: Smooth sailing from R.I. to Charlotte N.C. we only had about 45 minutes before it would be time to board our next flight so we hustled to the other end of the airport to find we had a half hour delay  This half hour delay turned into 4 hours   As our first plane needed maintainance and was sent back to the hanger and they then needed to find another plane. We decided to look on the bright side especially since it was good they found the problem before take-off After a very long day of traveling we arrived safely in beautiful Aruba at 7:20 p.m. Found a taxi and got to our hotel in no time It was dark and we were all starving so we tossed our luggage in our room and headed to dinner before the dining room closed. Dinner was very good afterwards Jay and I hung out at one of the bars and had a few drinks Jay's drink of choice for the week was 7&7 with a shot of taquilla  I often experimented with the drink of the day Soon it was midnight and time to hit the hay :!: ~~Day2~~ Woke up at about 7:30 went to the slider and saw that we were water front and right out the door was the beach and a few steps away was the beautiful turqoise blue sea Got ready quickly and ate breakfast then went to the beach outside our room We took turns going to the bar which soon got old as quickly as we were pounding them down   I went to the gift shop and bought 4 huge insulated mugs which could fit 2 drinks in them.this worked out well Every night we would also fill them with water so we would have cold water to drink in the morning.....very important to stay hydrated About 5 we headed off to shower and get ready for dinner we went to a restaurant called the Red Parrot it was excellent :!: After dinner Jay's parents went to the casino and Jay and I headed off to another bar We figured it was only right to get our $$$ worth   We closed that bar down and at 1 a.m. headed off to bed :!:
