    yeah, thats true and I still wasn't able to get that thing running.
    I use quicktime pro. although it seems to encode something, the movies are either "too small" (200MB movie gets 1.8MB) and don't plays anywhere or they play but without sound.

    That "video" feature in ipod sucks. :(
