Actually Alysia bought it for me when I retired at the age of 51 last july. I had a 69 camaro back in 1980, and she knew I wanted another one, so she took the money out of the bank and bought it for me. We had the money for a corvette, but never was interested in having one.

Been to TTR twice and GP once. GP's food IS better but vibe was a snoozer. Got home from GP and booked our 2nd TTR trip right away and had so much fun we extended our stay 4 more days.
Just booked trip number 3 to TTR in February and going to enjoy every damn minute of it. Plus the wife looks so hot in all the theme night outfits (or lack of them).

Went to the GP 2 years ago when we brought our daughters to Cancun. Here's our 2 cents worth:
We thought the Asian restaurant at the GP was superior to the one at TTR.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the steakhouse at the GP.
The view and sound of the ocean at GP was more impressive than at TTR, although I should note that for the entire 7 days we were there we were advised to NOT enter the water.
I'd rate the breakfast buffets and the late night burgers as even.
Poolside entertainment at TTR is on a grander scale, for sure.
Water sports at TTR, ie., Hobie Cats, stand up paddle board, kayaks, etc., do not require leaving the hotel and going to a marina. They are conveniently located on the beach.
People at TTR LOVE to get dressed up and make like it is an evening out on the town. The gals put on their sexiest outfits (the guys try to keep up) and it's dinner at a reservation restaurant then mingling and dancing at Paty'O's!
Last but not least, the Paty'O lounge is where we have the most fun and GP has nothing that compares! If you enjoy dancing the night away, TTR is the place to be.
Sorry for rambling, but we are already booked for TTR June '14. That should give you an idea about our preference : )

Stuck is right, if we wanted to relax and de-tune with better than average food we would go back to GP. Now TTR is for those that want a all inclusive just to stay fed and have a great time without gauging the quality of the meal.
My wife has no problem going topless and in a thong the whole trip but she kinda got the stink eye by the pool at GP and resorted to doing most of her exposed sun tanning on the beach at GP instead.
The bar at GP is fun but its the ONLY night life on the grounds that exist. Paty'Os at TTR is a outdoor rave with a ton of energy to the wee hours if you can keep up.
