We've seen it a few times. The "on call" TTR Dr provided some meds. One cpl told us took a couple weeks after they got home for it to clear up. Cellulitis is a potentially very serious bacterial infection of the skin.
I'm no Google...............but Google says It's not a common skin infection..........that it's bacterial and involves up to 3 different skin/flesh areas, and that it requires medical attention to clear up.
Just my two cents: I was military for a long time and it is quite “common” in warm, humid climates when one or all three things are present: previous or new cut/abrasion, humidity/heat and suppressed and/or weakened immune system (like being hungover or lack of sleep two or three days in a row).
