The big question is, did you buy a membership? We are still thinking it would be a good hedge against the expected rate increases.
I don't think it's just with resorts it's a general thing across many aspects of business and daily life in Mexico. A general air of secrecy, mistrust of everyone. There's a Mexican expression something like "it's easier to seek forgiveness than ask permission". Takes a bit of getting used to and very different to the way things are done North of the Border and in the UK, where I'm from.
Yes, we ended up purchasing it. We plan on coming every year. I think the money will end up being close to the same in the end. We enjoy the little perks, and plan on visiting Sea Adventure with the kids as well. I don't think I will lose money and if some people use my referals it could end up being a smart move. Time will tell. PS Don't tell Dave Ramsey about what we did, lol. ~Bobby
2016, month unspecified. But would expect it to be outside of high season so not the first 4 or 5 months of the year.
Thanks Steve, Thanks for sharing your perspective. We totally agree and have concluded the best way answer is to "party on!" We are booked for November and working on both February and April 2015. Until there is some official statement to worry is wasted energy. We will keep our energy for Boob cruises and theme parties!:flash:
so you say they are going to completely tear the place down ,put in new pools,8 floors any where from 400-800 rooms ,new restaurants , etc and do it all in 10 months ....wow !!!!! we need workers like that in Alberta (jeff)
I've actually been involved in some retail construction projects in Mexico and they actually can work quickly (although don't look too closely at the "details" lol)...the biggest issue is the delay in permits, inspections, etc.
