    I personally am excited about a facilities upgrade. We just got back from TTR & Pearl. After trying Pearl, we will never go back to TTR. However, if they upgrade their facilities, we will definitely consider going back. I would also caution people that think buying a Premier membership now is a steal. In my humble opinion, TTR will figure out a way to raise Premier's prices if the facilities are nicer. Call it a resort fee or whatever, they will figure it out.

    Just booked yesterday for September, of course they never said a word. My husband just called after hearing about this news and they said that they won't know till early 2015. They said that they would just send us to another resort if they were shut down for renovations. Didn't say what resort. Might have to switch to April/May instead.

    I completely respect that idea and maybe i am just looking at it from a different angle. Ive never been to hedo, but again i would assume u are paying for the party and atmosphere, not the accomodations and from the pictures i've seen of Desire, their accomodations are far better than Temptation. Again, i am not saying Temptation isnt worth the money to me, which is obvious in that we keep booking, but if i simply look at the accomodations (mainly the rooms and restaurants) i feel that Temptation is over priced. But its all an opinion. agree to disagree....cheers

    I'd lose my mind if I booked and paid for TTR and they sent us to another resort. If we wanted to stay at another resort... we'd book another resort. Watch they will send everyone to some family friendly one where they don't serve booze after 9pm and 10pm is quiet time :) hahaha

    I dont know anything about the De La Pena's family relationship with the 'Hotel Zone Board' I would expect it to be good though, nor did I see anything in the article about that. I am sure the HZ Board can't force anyone to spend a significant sum of their own money on their own hotel.

    According to the newspaper report the City wants to add 46,000 rooms across the whole of Cancun over the next 16 years, which is why I think permission will be granted, but as you said who knows how long that might take.

    Why would they add more rooms if the resort isnt full most of the year now?
