I think there are a few reasons that will ensure that the hotel lineup remains the same, unless of course they decide to expand the chain. Desire is in a good location and a good size for what it is: I have never been there so take this with a grain of salt. Everything I have read is that Desire offers a more intimate setting away from the big parties of Cancun and a more remote location that discourages voyuers from checking out all the naked people Temptation Cancun is perfectly situated for what it is: Temptation in Cancun is set up for a party, plain and simple. The energy of the place and proximity to nightlife invites those that want to have a fun vacation. That's why I go there. being single of course I wouldn't be able to go if TTR closed its doors to singles. Also, I don't think TTR could work as a clothing optional resort. It's right in the city, every Tom, Dick and Harry would be blasting by on jet skis, or walking along the beach to check out the naked people. Every once in a while a family with kid in tow walks on the beach past the resort. This can't be helped as all shoreline is public propery in Mexico. Not exactly conducive to getting it on under the sun. Sea Adventure: I stayed there on my first trip a few years ago when it was still the Blue Bay Club, it strikes me as a quiet family friendly spot. the water park that was added recently helps out with that even more. Temptation Cabo: I can't remember for sure but I think the main reason they converted it from being Desire to TTR was that they saw that TTR was the cornerstone brand (maybe not highest price but highest profit) and that they couldn't keep the Cabo Desire at a high occupancy rate, combined with construction around the hotel taking away from the secluded atmosphere. The fact they have periodic Desire weeks seems to tell me that they want to service that market in a way that tries to keep everyone happy. This isn't to say that they may or may not look into adding a Desire type resort elsewhere on the west coast (say Puerta Vallarta area for example), but I can't really see a reason they would change the signs at TTR in Cancun either.
I have never had a problem getting a room. Im simply stating the fact that it would be easy for any corporation to decide hey getting $230.00 per night for a room is better than my $"sub 120" rate. Many things though concern me about a Mexican timeshare...Luckily things have worked well so far.
I have the same concerns and am shocked to hear of people buying expensive timeshare packages. I also have no doubt that the sales staff is lying about most of the new program benefits.
