Wow - this great. We've done Breathless 3 times and both the Excellence Resorts but your review helped sell us on TTR! Agree that the Breathless grounds and facilities are amazing and the party vibe is definitely better than Excellence but the last time we wee there it seemed to be different and slowing down a bit. We are very social, love to have good time and meet new people. Breathless seemed to have more singles and Bachelorette parties this last time around and the vibe was certainly not as friendly and most people seemed to keep to themselves. All good if that is what you want. Looking forward to the theme nights and meeting new folks!
SO... we loved breathless when it opened in 2016. We had progressed from excellence (13 and 14) to secrets Maroma (15). Went again to breathless in 2017. Loved it again...but it had mellowed, less partyish and may have been the week also. In 16 the pools were open 24/7 with drink service... toplessness and thongs were rampant So... tried TTR in 18. Went again in 19, and now going again in June 20. TTR isn’t as fancy, doesn’t have the 5 star service, has cheap construction, has a crappy beach with crappy ocean swimming, food is so so....booze is subpar But.... TTR does have fun!!! Bash, theme parties, great friends, and most important .... freedom to step out from your shell, forget inhibitions, and enjoy! Not that we won’t go back to a 5 star again... but TTR is our place for now.
Sounds like we are on the same path you were and your experience at Breathless was similar to ours mexico24! Good to hear from someone who’s progressed from Excellence to Breathless to TTR! Love a 5 star as much as the next person but we love having fun and meeting fun people even more!
Why not do what we do? 9 days at TTR in December. Then 9 at Breathless in Feb. We use the February trip to recover from the party at TTR. ?
Been to both!! Been to TTR before the reno and after, Breathless is really nice, The Party at TTR hands down will blow breathless out of the water.... After 11pm Breathless is a ghost town.
