Can confirm this. I flew into Cancun in April and there is no longer a tourist card when arriving by air. I believe it's still a thing if you're driving over the border. It's definitely something that could stand to be better documented They also had some new booths at immigration since the last time I had been to Mexico where you can just scan your passport and it takes your picture and you can walk right through. It was a ton faster than waiting in the long line to get a stamp. From memory, they were off to the left when you arrive at immigration.
