Temptation people...you never cease to amaze me

The reason that I am saying this came to me the other day. Elyse and our 4 year-old son Maximus are participating again in an event called "March for Babies". Basically it is a 3 mile walk to raise money, awareness and support for premature babies, via the March for Dimes foundation. Well the Temptation connection came to me when Elyse said "I can't believe ... gave me such a large donation for the walk!". I was just like wow, that's awesome! And that got me thinking and I said: "You know these people that go to Temptation are amazing. We all know the great work that is done and the money that is raised for 'Chinos cause for Cancer', but it isn't just Cancun stuff that this group of people support. They actually care about people, the world, and giving back in many different ways. I am so glad we found that place, and get to hang out with all these people, because besides it just being fun, there is just a certain humanitarian thing that kind of goes along with it, which is what must make conversation so easy to have with everyone…aside from the boobs and booze."

You look at the world, and it is full of crappy people that just don't gave a F about anyone or anything except themselves. They have negative attitudes, insecurities, make incorrect judgements, and make many of us feel the need to hid where we go on vacation. But seriously who are they to judge??? I read on this site about people setting up Go-fund-me accounts for things like the kids Disney trips, or even just raising some money for someone that has some hard times so a group pitches in just so they can join the vacation. Other people gather goods from their community to put together travel bags for the kids with cancer. Then there are others that make friendly sports bets where the wager is donating money to a charity chosen by the winner. Like who does that?? Great humans, that's who! People that care about this world, care about the people that are in it, and make me proud to be a human.

So who cares what people say about our crazy nakedness, sexual shenanigans, and rowdy drunkenness. We try to make a positive difference in this world, and that's what matters. We really should be shaking our heads at the people that do nothing and only think of themselves. But whatever, we aren’t going to do that. Let them keep their clothes on and talk about us, that's not the type of people this resort attracts, and what this community is all about.

Fuckin' A Steve, my brother! You are so spot on about our misfit family. Most of my life has been spent with one misfit group or another, the common thread has always been people that have good hearts. But, our Temptation family has to be the best yet. I'm so glad we found this place, and these people, two years ago. We look forward to many, many more years with you all!

“I just wanted to send a big THANK YOU for your all your generous donations in support of the March of Dimes. It was a little wet, but Max and I walked again in the March for Babies last weekend. As Steve and I originally discussed, this community continues to amaze us with your selfless dedication to helping others. I’m proud to have met many of you and look forward to meeting many more in the future. It’s super cool that even people Steve and I have never even met donated to this cause. Because of everyone eagerly jumping in making donations in a short period of time, we were among the Top 40 fundraisers at our location. Max and I got a big shout-out from the entire group, but most importantly, every dollar helps to fund research and support families in need.

I know the motto at TTR is “no one knows you and no one gives a shit”, but in this case I want to know all of you and I do give a shit! It is so great being part of a community that makes a positive impact on the world.

I can’t say it enough, thank you so much! See you at TTR in a few weeks!!!!!!

Completely agree

a few years back a large number of us started a cancuncare reunion in New Orleans and opened it up to all cancuncare members - the point of the reunion was to (a) catch up with cancuncare people, (b) have a great time with fun inclusive people, and (c) do something amazing for the make a wish foundation

each year for the past 6 years we have done just that -

over 200 cancuncare members and their friends attend each year and last year alone we raised over $100,000.00

in fact, because of this site, the incredible members, cancuncare staff and chinos we are expecting our 6 year total this year to approach half a million dollars for the Make a Wish Foundation.

yeah cancuncare people have made a huge difference in my life..........and to a whole lot of make a wish kids lives as well
