Did anyone see the 5000 like giveaways? I got blocked from the FB page for point out the truth… They gave away a free night to anyone with a booked/upcoming trip to the resort. I pointed out that they giveaways sucked because they knew that people would likely not claim them given that booked/upcoming usually means that the trip planning is done, to take advantage of the free night flights would need to be changed amongst other things and people will not $$$ do it…. I suggested that the giveaways should be things people will actually use like free lobster or spa passes. They deleted the posts and blocked me! Lol That’s not the kicker…the prizes were for 3 people, the first 3 to post. They did not chose the first 3, they chose whoever they wanted. When the person that was truly 3rd pointed out that she was third, they deleted her posts as well, wonder if they blocked her too…. Shaddy Shaddyyyyy, as if FB is the only webpage is the world to post good or negative feedback…. I am really hoping that the person behind FB does not actually work at the resort....but rather in some livingroom somewhere...
I know the hotel can be very delete happy with their facebook group. There have been similar reports before of critical comments disappearing. At the end of the day though, they 'own' the Facebook group and can manage it whatever way they like. Ethically it's bad practice, loses the hotel credibility and is counter productive but until they have someone who understands this I doubt it will change.
I saw it. I also agreed with you, but we don't know the terms and conditions. Maybe they pay for the flight change? I also saw that they didn't choose the first three people, but maybe after contact they couldn't stay the extra night? Just saying we don't know all the circumstances. On a brighter note... I will be trying realllllly hard to win the next contest! So any tips would be great.
Dont know the circumstances? They deleted the comments made by one of the actual winners.... They pick and chose and manipulate things, I've read about it in many reviews elsewhere, just did not think I would live it. To me it does not matter, my trip is booked and it was the cheapest adults only resort that I could find. And yes, its their site but its still shaddyyyy, forget blocking me, who cares, deleting the posts of one of the actual winners instead of addressing it and correcting the drawing...not nice... They deleted my comments too after our visit last March, I was commenting on the large groups of single men there!
Yep same here!! I was posting about being very excited on my upcoming trip, etc....but as soon as I mentioned cancuncare.com and all of the awesome info and repeaters on here everything got deleted and now I'm blocked
Banning people who mention this website on their Facebook site is kind of like me deleting and banning anyone who speaks of the Miss Temptation contest here. One day they might hire someone who actually has a clue about Social Marketing and acknowledges the existence of their largest online fan base and what a great asset it is. Actually, that's a little harsh there are plenty of people at TTR who do recognise cancuncare as being the best free public relations the hotel could ever dream of, but then those people are too busy with more important things than to spend their working day on Facebook.
