Temptation Cruise

Yeah.. I guess it's a little of a misnomer now days.... used to be that there were truly take over groups that would come to the hotel and close off a couple of the restaurants and parts of the beach and the quite pool....

But then I've seen where 50 people showing up in a single group can cause the entire resort to take a step back and say WTF???? Ahhh.. PadyO's with the chocolate Hulk.... such fond memories...

Sorry to say that I never Partied with them before! They announced it several weeks ago on FB! The group has been getting together for several years at different events/places!

 

Yes, Jamie, I think you make a very good point. Most "takeovers" are just large groups.... but then again, you compare to the group of TTR repeaters that truly "takeover" the resort day in and day out. Most of the "takeover" groups go completely unnoticed.

 

My reference to the days with the Chocolate Hulk were done with tongue in cheek....

A group of about 50 came in one day and were hard to ignore.. imagine if you will someone standing outside the Italian restaurant and screaming "Bitch, get your fucking ass over here we're ready to eat" to someone on the other side of the now SHE restaurant. Loud, vulgar, obnoxious all describe the attitude of this group from the moment they arrived... later hear it was that way from the moment they stepped on the airplane to fly to Mexico and hadn't stopped the entire time.

First and only time I've ever seen a definite demarcation gap in PadyO's between a group and the rest of the resort. Later that night there was a lively disagreement between one of their group (nicknamed the Chocolate Hulk the next day in the local newspaper - I stand 6 foot and I came up to his shoulders) and I guess you could say the security staff and the reset of the resort. I can say if the Police ever get called on you for fighting that the guys that arrive would mix well with the Linebacker core of any NFL team. Was a time that night as I thought my days would end at PadyO's.

Needless to say all ended well and the next morning the entire resort, including the group, were back to normal and everyone had a great time.

Just another story for the history books of our favorite place on the planet.

Yes, I remember hearing about that particular takeover. I understand that they were terrible for the most part. I know I will definitely be avoiding trips during the time that they are there. What a disaster!

 

We are booked on the cruise and cant wait. We plan to fly to Cancun from Tampa after the cruise to spend a week at Temptation!!!
Excited to hear more about the cruise pre-party since we will definitely fly in the day before.

Did anyone else get an email yesterday about the cruise from TTR? It was encouraging booking, and the price was back at the price we booked at, which was the lower rate. Here is what I got. Funny thing is, we are already booked on deck 9. There seems to be an informal group calling everyone on 9 the Deck 9 Degenerates. I guess we are proud, founding members.

You got me excited. However, the price is not back to the lowest rate. Might be back to the rate you booked at but not the lowest rate which was before the mid feb price raise. They keep sending out these ads that imply the discounts are back but the reality is the ocean view balcony stateroom was going to cost us $2400 back then including fees/taxes and now they will cost $3080 (2380 base fee plus $350pp). 25% increase. Not a special rate. Sorry, dont shoot the messenger. Just keeping it real. However, looking at the latest ship diagram with availability they have sold a lot of rooms since the price went up and they started advertising more that it is a special rate. So they know what they are doing and it is working resulting in more rooms being booked as a result.

Related to the group comment... I have noticed a wave of communications from travel agents, lifestyle groups, etc over the last month advertising these great deals (the raised prices) and benefits of booking thru them. For example, one group is offering a free night at a hotel the night before the cruise. Another says special mixers on the cruise. Another says we will have our own block of rooms together on the ship (like that matters). So while we are getting a raised price I am sure these groups are getting $ back to have us book thru them or they wouldn't be offering free nights and parties.
