i don't know. i lived in south beach for a few months and have friends to stay with down there. i don't go for the music. the WMC is a big gathering of spring breakers/techno freaks with great parties happening the entire weekend. like i said, its the best weekend of the year to be in south beach.

speaking of miami, i really wanted to go and party for the superbowl weekend but going then and then to cancun and also miami in march would be just too much. i love south beach tho. if someone offered me a nice job down there, i would move in a heart beat

South Beach is great. I've been down there three times but never during WMC. I always want to go to WMC but going somewhere else for spring break in mid/end March just makes scheduling another trip to Miami really difficult. Maybe one of those years, I'll just do a Ft Lauderdale/South Beach spring break trip.

I love this quote!! It's too true.
Is that the song that goes, "There's a Boy, I Know, He's the one I'm dreaming off. Looked into his eyes, take me to the clouds above" if so, that was big here 3 years ago.

I'm about a week late but I'm gonna weigh into the debate. 3 years ago in Melbourne (a rave and ravers drug capital for YEARS) you could clear a dance floor with a house song, r'n'b or rap as it's known to you was all anyone would dance to, hell even 2 years -18 months ago this would happen then suddenly within about 2 months the clothes changed totally. The music in the clubs and radio suddenly changed and now no one can believe how it was 2-3 years ago. 4 years ago when I first started going out all any of the girls wore was a short skirt or jeans and and top where you would expose your stomach, it was daggy to wear anything that covered up. I don't hardly own this stuff now, and you can't buy it anywhere. All the tops are long and flowing with LOW cut neck & back lines and are worn with short shorts or skin tight skinny jeans (usually the shorts) and at any club you'll see at least about 60% of the girls in a dress, plunging neckline and they're mid length or short and everything has an underbust belt coz otherwise everyone would be looking pregnant. It actually looks weird to not dress like this now.
When I was away last year me and my sister were about the only 2 people dressed the way we were and it's wasn't quite like it is now, just the longer tops and skinny jeans etc oh, and she loved short shorts you couldn't see under her tops sometimes haha. As someone mentioned in this thread, the fashion there is apparently starting to move towards the house fashion, that was where it started for us.
At the same time we do still have R'n'B here, it's just not the mainstream domination that it used to be. Don't say it's NEVER gonna happen because you dont know for sure, but I don't think it would ever be quite like it is here or in Europe or the UK but I do think it will become a little more commercial in the US eventually. Personally I LOVE wearing a dress out to a club coz it just feels classier :D
