Hi, newbie here to this forum.

We are looking forward to our first trip to Cancun this January. We are arriving late, near midnite and were wondering what a taxi would charge to take us to the Crown Paradise hotel. We have transfer provided but would rather not wait for all guests to get to van. I have read that $60 seems to be the common number? Is this the case? It looks like it is only a 10 or 15 minute drive to CP. Can you negotiate with the drivers or no?

Also have read about some tour companies that have clubbing trips. ie Coco Bongo, does anybody know if Party Rockers is still around and if so are they reasonable to deal with. I have emailed them twice with no response. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Taxis are generally not allowed to pick up at the airport. Look on this page for a link to USA Transfers to arrange a private van to pick you up. This is generally in that $60 range. The owner of this site (Steve) can help you out as well.

Not sure about Party Rockers, never heard of them. But many of the hotels have their entertainment staff take people to the clubs. Even if you find nothing that way just go down and start going into places. I've found that you can buy passes from vendors on the street who will walk you past the lines pretty much anywhere and it's not that pricey compared to waiting in line as well.

    Have fun!

Essentially you have 3 choices in transportation.
    1. Take a taxi which will cost US $65.00 for 2 people. No way around this since there is no negotiation with the cab drivers since the fees are set by the govt.
    2. Take the shared shuttle which is US $15.00 per person. Again this fee is set by the govt.
    3. Take a pre arranged shuttle, the price varies depending on who you contact.

No matter what unless you take option 3 the return fare to the airport is via cab about US $25.00 for up to 3 persons, but you have to negotiate this with the driver. If you go outside on the road the price can be lower by a dollar or two however you may or may not see a cab coming due to your location.

Get USA Transfer to the hotel for $35 USD. Crown Paradise is one of the closer hotels to the airport. Don't forget to tip! Take a taxi back for about $25 USD. Just ask the bellman to get one as they are always there.

We always use Cancun Valet for airport transfers, and their service is great.
