I just spoke to Brant again and the dispute seems to have fizzled out, for now anyway. Brant got his 4 vans back after paying for them to be released. Two were impounded for being 'abandoned'. One was impounded due to no original of the insurance being carried (no one carries originals, only copies) One was impounded due to the window tint being too dark (laws re tints dont apply to commercial vehicles) So all ridiculous reasons, but part of life when doing business in Mexico. Brant did mention that there are often long waits getting through the airport, some people are taking 3+ hrs from landing, to go through baggage collection, immigration and customs. So, maybe prepared for that if travelling soon.
Feed me beer and it will all be fine. We just got back from Huatulco a few weeks ago. Couldn't leave the airport in our shuttle to our hotel because of some sort of teacher's strike. They blocked the main (and only road) to the hotels and no vehicles could pass through. We were all concerned until the beer cart came around. 6 beers later we were on our way. Wasn't so bad. You know you're in for something when you go to Mexico. Seldom I hear of all things going just perfectly. But we all end up going back because we love it so much You occasionally have to put up with a few unplanned interruptions but it all usually works out in the end! See you in 2 weeks. 4th time to Temp.
Arrived last Monday Feb 10 and Airport wait was about 45 min. to clear customs and baggage P/U. Left yesterday Feb 17, it was about 25 min the clear immigration and security. Used USA Transfers, with no problems.
that happened to us on r 2nd trip, took about 2 hours to get out of the airport (2012) do too many flights coming in at the same time.
