Booze was all middle shelf stuff that was included we were surprised. And yeah get a like a 20-24oz bubba mug for the pool. We did find that glasses around the pool were much better. Would not get one of those 2 gallon bubba mugs, to much to lug around.
Hearing all this talk about "byob", I thought this was an all inclusive resort. Is the alcohol they serve to non members really that shit! Can you upgrade to the black bands? If so what do you have to do? Maybe It's just me but crown, jack daniels, fireball, to name a few are really considered premium drinks? Do they have any good Rose or prosecco?
No it’s not crap booze. It’s just nice to have some I. Your room so you don’t have to ru. Back and forth to the bar. Bar won’t give you bottles
I'm thinking of getting one of these for my wife's tumbler. Seems a little ridicules bringing your own alcohol to a all inclusive but she can be a little snooty about her alcohol. We originally brought 2 bottles because we like to have the convenience of having a cocktail in the room. We found our selves making a "good drink" to bring to the pool before having to consume whatever they had. After the good stuff was gone she managed drinking the bars booze but my keen eye detected she was not drinking as much and that's not good for the fun factor. With this in mind I hatch a evil plan. I figure that with flask thingy by the time its empty she will be tipsy enough she wont notice shes been switch to the substandard libations. FlasKap® 5.0
Yeah, I've never been a huge "must have x" drinker... then again I'm a black band. It's a resort in Mexico... so usually quite a few tequila options, but fewer whiskey/bourbon choices. They have at least one option for each type (whisky, vodka, gin, rum) and some decent liqueur variety. But again, if you have a specific brand in mind, odds aren't great. "Good" rose or presecco, not really. Last year when we were there, they had some sparkling wine, but it wasn't very good, and I can't say I've ever seen rose wine. They have 2-3 choices of "house wine" - I've seen merlot, cabernet, and Chardonnay. If you want something more on the wine front, you will either need to pay for an "upgrade" bottle at a restaurant, or purchase yourself. As for black bands, you can go on referral, or if you buy a timeshare during your trip, you can also get upgraded bands. That's the only way I know.
I've been under a referral, and also just with a regular band. Their '' low '' shelf booze isn't that bad in fact it's way better than it use to be. I'm a vodka or crown drinker myself. Since I'm not a member, I just stick to Sky Vodka, water & Mio. During the day, we use our own cup, drinks are cold longer, and water stay out. At Bash we use their cup which holds 12 oz or so.
Does anyone know how much the premier package is and how to get it? Just emailed the resort and was told that info is not available. Can't drink cheap liquor (sorry bit of an alcohol snob). Would appreciate any info. We are going April 30-May 7. Cheers!
There is not a premier package, or something like a booze upgrade option once you are there. The black bands that people are referring to in this thread are for members (it's like a vacation package club) or member Referrals (people that are going on a trip that a member helped them setup and are required to do the member presentation). As others have stated the regular level booze is a step above most all-inclusive resorts and is brand name stuff (Captain, Sky, Absolute, Bacardi, etc.)
