Like has been mentioned above, it's a marathon not a sprint. 6 shots within an hour, even for a seasoned drinker is a stupid idea. If these were free-poured out in a standard glass not a shot glass that could easily be enough alcohol to be a problem. Drinking, particularly around water, people need to take care. I'm a big woman and can handle a lot more than a slimline woman but you would not see me doing more than 1 shot an hour in the pool. 6 shots and a couple of mixed drinks would have me floored. Drinking like that and swimming is insanity. Many years ago during my first visit they found a guy floating face down in the sexy pool one day, lips blue. He was on his own and nobody noticed him go under. Had to be resuscitated, ambulance called and all that. People at the bar said they'd seen him ask the bartenders earlier in the day to fill a bubba mug up with straight tequila. Even if that was intended to last all day that's a very stupid idea. If you want to stay safe, know your limits and don't take chances. Don't accept shots from strangers. Cover your drinks. Space drinks out. Sure, do shots but have one, let it take effect and see how you feel half an hour later. Under-drinking when in water is a better option than risking drowning. Just another thought, I think other guests and bartenders should be more proactive in spotting and helping people in trouble. It's visually quite obvious when someone is over-intoxicated. Keep an eye on them and if they're stumbling or groggy they should at the very least be directed to a lounger out of the water. Passing out on a lounger might be embarrassing but at least they're not going to drown.
