so much 'precautionary' stuff... shit, the state of Texas just cancelled all high school sporting events for the next two weeks. however, they are not cancelling classes. how the hell does that make sense? you can sit in school for 8 hours a day sharing germs but can't go outside and play a game?

Yes be caucious and mindfull about this new outbreak but the frenzy would have you believe the worlds ending next week.
I'm sick of people thinking that I have it just because I went to Mexico. My Spanish professor actually ASKED me to sit in another part of the classroom.
BTW, WHO just raised the pandemic alert level to 5 out of 6. The pandemic alert level for avian flu a couple years ago (H5N1) was never higher than a 3. And there were 257 deaths, not 0. Media oversensationalizes things but I'd pay a little more attention to WHO.
