swine flu "end of days" party starts 4/30

I'm finally back online. I've been having problems connecting to the Internet and with all the dead bodies lying around, it was tough getting to the front desk to get them to fix their connection. Other than that, everything is going great...although my nose and ears are changing shape...and that damn curly tail that's popping out...

Remember to bring (and use) sunscreen...I didn't get a chance to get a tan before I left, so I look like a lobster right now...all I need is a little butter.

I'm not trying to minimize the flu issue, but I keep hearing the bad cases are around areas of poor sanitation. And weren't we supposed to already be dead from SARS, bird flu, and mad cow disease?

The media here has really ratcheted it up a notch or two. Couple that with pressure from friends, family, employers -a ll who are generally saying "you are crazy if you go" and it makes for a tough call.

We are planning on going, but a few friends who were going with us are already indicating they may not go, so we are still in limbo. I'm hoping the situation will resolve it self soon one way or another.

Of course I appreciate the concern of all my family and friends.... but if I'm gonna get it (since it is already here in the US)...I'd rather say "I hunted it down to catch it"... lol - - I always like to be a little bit different than others... HA

So far it looks like we're as safe here as we are back in Texas; however, the suggestions of skipping clubs might be a good idea if we really want to play it safe.

I just checked with Bulldog and (at least if I do it soon) they will let me cancel and will refund the $1500. For the people that were going to Bulldog with us, do you think I should cancel? Although we are somewhat isolated from the crowds, we will still be around thousands(?) of people throughout the night.

We've also decided that Quita Penas is a good vaccine, so we are drinking as much as we can...but only for medicinal purposes, of course!

 

Better make that a Super Soaker...people really like this stuff!

We still have 8 3-liter bottles (not counting what I have on ice by the pool). Although I don't think the bus lines go there, I do know where there are a few more bottles!

Back to the pool, I can hear them calling for another round!

 

I'd cancel the Bulldog. At this point we're not sure we can even make it down there, but even if we do I think the club thing would be out for us.

For those of you concerned about the Swine Flu...here's another way to look at it.

If it's my day to die and that's the way my creator chooses me to go, I have absolutely no say so about it. So, why not enjoy what I can control and live this life that I only get one chance to live??
