swine flu.. are you going ahead with your holiday?

Hola! I'm from Scotland and the couple that have been confirmed with it here were on their Honeymoon in Cancun!! They are friends of my friend and had been in contact with 22 people since their return home and out of that 22, 7 people are now showing signs of flu - my friend included. They have been advised not to attend the doctors or hospital but are being treated at home in isolation.

Just heard on the news all flights from Manchester and Gatwick have been cancelled as per Foreign Office advice I'm not back in Temptation til Aug so I obv hope it's all sorted by then but just feel so sorry for all those at the airport now with no holiday

Guess we will not be seeing anyone, all flights are cancelled from here, what an over reaction, typical uk busy bodies! We are gutted. Now begins the fight to get our money back? Makes me wonder what would have happend had we got there, would we have been able to get back. Have a drink for us all those that manage to get there, maybe see you another time. :cry:

Still Going

We plan on still going at this point... my company has issued a statement to employees that if we go to Mexico we have to take an additional 48 hours off for an "incubation" period .... I plan on going unless the passport officials tell me no!

 

We still plan on going, come hell or high water. We have worked too hard for this, and in two weeks time this will all probably have blown over.

May 12th can't come quick enough.

 

I still plan on going in a few weeks. I hope it doesn't scare too many people off and the resort is empty.

Being forced to take more time off can't be that bad...

 

Who did you book with? We booked with Thomas Cook and will have the full refund back into the account within 5 days - would much rather be in Cancun though

 

Time off

I agree - it is two days and I can work from home. At this point I feel like it is totally media taking over and making it worse than it is...don't get me wrong - my heart goes out to those that are sick and those families that have lost loved ones...but I spoke with my physician earlier and she told me what to watch for and told me she has the vaccine when I come back if I am sick.
