TD wouldn't do it for me here. They said you get what you get for peso's. We have a couple 1000 peso's bills that make me a little nervous but I know that the front desk has broken down 500 bills for me before.

We had ge same problem last year, we had tobe at the airport at 7 am on pay day so we stopped by the bank ATM and got $20s. We asked Lucero who is always our breakfast waiter and he broke the bills for us.

That makes me even more nervous since you are living down there. I have 2 of them.

If the resort won't change them, I will give you 500MXN notes and I am sure they can break them from there.

I called my bank after reading this and I'm waiting for a call back. I will see what I can do here first. If my bank can't do anything and the resort can't do anything then I will absolutely take you up on your offer.

    You guys are amazing!!

I find exchanging at the airport is the best for small bills. We usually get mostly 10s, 20s, 50s for daily tipping, and a few 100s and 200s for the start and end of our trip.

I know people say you pay more for the exchange than if you buy from a bank, but I usually walk around to a few of the exchange counters in the airport while waiting (Toronto Pearson) and at least one of them will waive the service fee, so it's just straight daily exchange rate for CAN to MXN.

I would have considered that but with a 64 minute layover in Toronto we don't have that option.
