ive found over the years of training people is the biggest down fall (the diet). what I do like about insanity and p90x is its made for people who don't have a lot of time .
just completed stick with it - its hard as all get out - stick with it - stay committed pictures say more than I can after before
We have always worked out at the gym but alternate nights due to the 3 kid factor. Usually an hour of weights followed by 3-5 miles on the treadmill. It worked for a while then we hit a wall and stopped seeing results. About 2 months before our April trip we started p90x to challenge ourselves more with the added benefit that we could work out nightly together. We absolutely love it. Seeing a different type of results. On previous programs/routines we would lose weight but not really look healthy. Lost too much muscle with the weight. With p90x we have been replacing the fat with the muscle. We picked it right back up when we returned from TTR last week. Oddly enough we each lost weight at TTR. I lost ten pounds. When you work so hard nightly you just don't want to eat bad.
I think I'll try and gain weight cuz everytime I say I'm going to exercise and eat better I end up gaining. I'll set my goal to gain 15 pounds and then I'll probably lose 20!! I even tried replacing one meal with an all natural, veggie and fresh fruit shake and ended up gainging 5lbs. It sucks getting older and wider :icon_frown: and yes, that's wider..... not wiser. On a lighter note, 37 MORE DAYS!!!! WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! I can't wait! C'mon June 22!!
I think the workout aspect is comendable. But not drinking for 60 days. Lets be real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The not drinking was hard for the first few days. It's gotten easier now. However with Stanley cup playoffs going on, a couple of beers sure would be nice. But the results will be worth it!!
Insanity is rough, it was not designed for a middle age out of shape guy with bad knees! I am down 20+ lbs and feel better, firing up for round two! The problem with Insanity is while your training for your vacation, you should also be in trainging for TTR. Just might be a lightweight on vacation. :ernaehrung005::ernaehrung005::ernaehrung005: Jeff
We are starting Week 3 tomorrow. 1st week was the toughest, especially the no drinking part. I think our livers went into shock. We have muscle memory on the drinking part.... "you never forget how to ride a bike".:ernaehrung005:
But you don't climb on the bike and do the Tour De France either. The last 3 weeks are very intense and where you will really see the muscle definition.
