Hello All After some consideration and looking at prices and facilities and such we have decided to go with the Best Western Cairn Croft, http://www.cairncroft.com/ for our “Spring Fling in Niagara Falls”. I have spoken with the contact at the hotel and we have an agreed upon price of $115.00 Canadian + taxes per night for June 5th and 6th, the Friday and Saturday night. If you are going, they will hold the rooms for us until April 20th. I have informed her that there is approximately 20 rooms if 100% of the people that expressed an interest end up booking. These rooms will be in the “tower” section of the hotel on the 5th floor. Any overflow will end up on the 4th floor. There is 15 rooms on the 5th floor which are broken down as follows, 8 have a single king bed, 7 have a single queen bed with a fireplace and 3 on the 4th floor have just a queen bed. In addition to these 18 rooms, there are upgrades available from $30.00-$50.00 more per night, some have a king bed and a Jacuzzi in the rooms, some are with king beds and whirlpool tubs in the washroom. If interested please inquire with the reservationists about what is available. The Best Western has an “Atrium” with an indoor pool and a couple of hot tubs, there is also the “Bourbon street Bistro” where you can order some drinks and pizza and sit and shoot the breeze. There is onsite dining and an onsite bar, “The Croft Lounge” which to those familiar with the area is the local “Cougar” bar, that feature Dj and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. To book your room, just contact the hotel at 1-800-263-2551 or email Stephanie Hicks at stephanie@cairncroft.com and tell them that you are booking under “Cancun Care” and they will quote you that price for that weekend. I’ll follow this up with PM’s to everyone that has expressed some interest and hopefully everyone signs in. Thanks B & B

Be careful out there http://portal.marktwain.net/news/index.php?display=story&article=D96S3TJ02&pd=20090311
Re: Be careful out there I don't know if this is an urban myth or not, but someone once told me that since the casino's have been opened, they have staff dedicated full time to watching the base of the falls for drowning victims. Apparently, people losing their shirts (house, bank accounts, cars, etc,) has resulted in an increase in the amount of people jumping and they try to fish them out before any of the tourists see them the next day. According to the article above, only 17 people have gone over, so this might just be an urban myth.
May or June here too, but June would be better. I'll e-mail daughter and try to get prices at Great Wolf Lodge too. (She works there). Woody
