We have flown Spirit many times, or as I like to call it..the "Just Get Us There Airline". lol

Never had any issues with them. Have always been on time. Know all about all the nitpicking fees, etc..., so we are aware before we book.

They aint fancy, but they do get us there safely.

I was skeptical but just flew them to LAS. I had a great experience. If nothing else, I was able to fly back while Kyle's AA flight was cancelled twice, and he's still stuck there.

mad060203, something a smart traveler posted on CCC might be beneficial to you guys. Since you have a real early departure (0645), you might look into staying at a hotel at BWI the night before. Even better, try to find a hotel that allows free parking for the week. Wake up and your already at the airport. We did fly Spirit a couple times before. No issues.

Already on top of that! We found a great deal through parksleepfly.com that includes free parking for a week and free shuttle service to and from the airport. We live two hours from BWI airport do there was no way we were going to make it on time if we had to drive all that way and be at the airport before departure time.

    Thanks for th suggestion!!!

Flown on Spirit numerous times when we flew out of Fort Lauderdale (their biggest hub). I won't bitch about bag fees, etc.. because honestly, that's all part of shopping and being an informed consumer.

Their flights *were* often delayed. I felt for people with connections. While I won't say I'd never fly Spirit again, I tend to avoid it unless the price difference is huge.

We fly also with Spirit for the first time we fly from Los Angeles to Detroit then to Cancun we fly out July 10th. I have already paid the baggage fee upfront but also notice you have to pay for a boarding pass also so that day I will pay for it and print out online. The reviews sound really bad that I have ready so I will keep my fingers crossed, have a shot of tequila at the airport and give my husband a valium so he wont complain the whole way.

we are at the airport today! So far....
    - bags were 6lbs over weight and they did not charge us more. Staff has been extremely friendly and professional. Just waiting to board now.
