Never had a noticeable speed issue on our end. Some days it might have been a bit slower but never slow enough to impede my viewing of the site or really take that much notice. Hope that last sentence made sense Anything that I may have noticed applied to all sites visited so I attributed it to my ISP. As far as ads go, I use an ad blocker in Firefox. Don't know if that affects your revenue though. You have to make a living so do what is best for you. IMHO
I have found it brutally slow for about a month. I have no speed issues with other sites just this one.

Same for me except for the Ipad/iPhone. Reeeaaalllyy slow with those, but really fast with desktop. No others sites are slow with either. This is my IPad speed test (I get over 100 mp on the desk top) if that matters? I'm not real techy, but I can find porn pretty easy.
Not sure if you did something Steve but today it has really improved. It hasn't been this fast in a long time for me.
