I currently have Sky TV in the HZ. Is there any other options to get CBS, NBC, ABC etc (more American channels) in the HZ? Unsure if a dish is permissible but tend to think it is not. (Condo bylaws)

USTVnow - Watch Live American TV Shows Online The major networks are fee, but there are packages if you want cable. And if you get other friends even just sign up, you get free DVR time. I can DVR up to 8 hours at a time. It's fantastic!!!!

I'm no TV 'techie' either but for simplicity sake, I'd say that ToriB's way may be the easiest and best bet.

Hopefully someone with more tech savvy will chime in.

i have Slingbox and it is pretty easy on this end. It's a one time buy of the equipment and is available on ebay and Amazon as well as on the Sling site.

There is no monthly fee. You are basically glomming on to someone's cable service in the states. In my case, I am on an Atlanta DirecTV system. I have 200 or 300 channels available, more if my host had the HD pkg but they don't.

So you need a friend/family in the states to host your Slingbox. You don't need a TV at their home but you do need a dedicated (to you) cable box, so that box rent may be $25-$30 US per month. They need a good upload speed which is more important than your download speed here.

We can talk about this faster privately if you are interested in more info.
