I am a newbi and plan to go in May this talk of no chairs and being up at 7am to reserve chairs is kind of offputting
Chairs around the sexy pool are a premium and can be tough to come by. This is the same at any resort during high season and not some anomoly with TTR. It's damn hot in May and all the fun is in the pool so I wouldn't worry about it, just make some friends and throw your stuff under their chair if you don't want to play the 7am game There's usually lots of chairs available on the beach or around the quiet pool too.
After sitting through 2 hours of becoming a "premier member" ( shoot me now) we were told of many upgrades in the week’s months to come. Who knows if they are true or not, but after plying us with drink for hours, we bought in and were told this is fact of renovations to come; here we go: 1. All the 5000 section to be tore down and a whole new section rebuilt. Work to start late September 2. Two new restaurant to go in over the next two years. 3. Cover over PatyOs by summer 4. Shoes to be blown up and started from scratch (no time table) 5. Upgrades to the sitting areas around check in (old and dirty.) Told they have already purchased items and waiting for delivery 6. We asked about heating any of the pools and were told there were no plans for that since it would seldom be needed. 7. Build a mini mart if you will and consolidate the stores and adventure desk to be in one central area. That's all I can remember as I fade away Cheers!!!
Thank you for your advice and reply ,as we are from the UK we would holiday in Spain quite a lot where as you say reserving chairs or sunbeds as we would call them is the done thing, allthough the management state it is not allowed. So if you can,t beat em you have to join em. After a few day i am sure we will get the hang of things. Cheers Bertie&Ann
Aw I like the 5,000 block (truthfully probably my personal favorite area)... though putting on my thinking hat it does make the most sense to me.
5000 block gone will make Halloween 2014 less crowded and noisy. I like the idea of 2 new places to eat. Hope one of them will be a hibachi style(a suggestion we made). Nice shoes very much needs a complete do over. Cover over patty O's will be great for rainy nights.
When you get back you'll wonder what all the fuss was about, all you'll remember is the incredible time you had
The 5000 block is our second favorite block too (3,000 block by the sexy pool is our favorite). As long as the new block is nicer than the current 5000 block then nobody will complain. Great to know that construction won't start until September and shouldn't effect much other than a block of rooms off to the side rangehat:
Don't hold your breath on any of this other than not heating the pools. It took them two years to build Margaritas. Nice Shoes took a year.
