This time next week...we will probably know who the next president is.

    Will it be Obrador?
And if it is, how far left is he gonna take Mexico?

I'm not allowed to vote as a foreigner and have weak Spanish, so I have no clue :)

All I know is the Peso is extremely weak right now and may well get weaker against the USD.

Well at least Bernie should be happy. Another Socialist in the Western Hemisphere to go along with Maduro in Venezuela and the Castros in Cuba. Let's hope AMLO doesn't do to Mexico what Maduro has done to Venezuela.

Does this boil down to the normal thing about people just wanting things given tot hem by other people and not wanting to work for it themselves?

    I am just asking.

No controversy there. People that work have to pay for those who can't/won't. When Obamacare came into being it took health insurance away from those that work by raising premiums so high the employers could not continue to subsidize it or added massive deductibles. Those on the lower end of the spectrum got 100% of their medical covered. As Margaret Thatcher once said, "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

Funny you raised Venezuela as an example.
That was exactly the place Marilyn and I compared with immediately following the news of the election result on Sunday.
We used to love that country and traveled there 4 times.
It was great in the 90's....but a basket case now!

Fingers crossed that Mexico dossn'the become like Venezuela.

A classmate of mine loves to go on and on about the rich do not pay their fair share. So I asked him to define the terms "rich" and "fair share" which brought about a priceless response. He said, "How dare you ask that question!"

To most on the Left anyone is rich who makes more than they do and the fair share is at least double what the Lefties are paying.
