I'll be in England next summer. Who has a couch for me to crash on?

Oh, and when I go to England I want to make a trip to Scottland as well. A friend told me it was not that far of a train ride from London and well worth it.

I just can't decide if I want to do 2 weeks in England or a week in Sweden and then a week in England.

What month is a good month to come to England?

Erm..London to Scotland (Depending where) ranges from like 4 - 7 hours on the train

Heat wise May - Mid August but we don't get reliable summers, to be honest mate if you come here for week London will keep you far too busy to contemplate scotland (It's sh!t anyway)

Scotlands too much of a hike from the South of England if you extend it to 2 weeks though you could make the journey north and come get drunk near us for a day then continue train journey north to scotland

Yeah, Scotland is not a short train ride from London. Cambridge and Oxford are a short ride. Scotland is like on the other (far north) side of the country.

London to Glasgow - 6Hours 5 Mins - The same cost but this is also advanced ticket aswell

London to Aberdeen - averages 7hours 30 mins at £91 cheapest advance rate

I guess I was misinformed. A friend who went to London a few years back said he grabbed a bus from London to Scottland early morning bout a 4-5 hr bus ride explored scottland (not sure what town) a bit stayed the night at a bed and breakfast woke up explored some more then took a late night/evening train back to london. He said it was worth the trip. I guess what I need to do is confirm I can do Sweden at the same time. Maybe i do Sweden on a seperate visit and then do 2 weeks in England and go to Scottland for 2-3 days for fun.

I'd like to go to Scottland as it is where my surname (Lowry) originated from.
