Hi, when I lived in Cancun, there were about 12 smoke shops around town (both Hotel zone and downtown) featuring many varieties of cigars, accessories and, of course, cigarettes.

They seemed to be stable businesses, at least with enough volume sales to actually stay in business, although some may have disappeared. They are normally very small storefronts but located in high pedestrian traffic areas. As you will see, there is plenty of competition already established. Good luck.

There are dozens of places in the HZ selling fake Cuban cigars. Bad fakes too. There is a smallish store in Plaza La Isla that used to be promoted as being sanctioned by the Cuban gov't, whatever that means.

Walmart has a well located but tiny kiosk at the entrance to the restrooms. Maybe 5'x8'.

You might make more $$ with some really good counterfeits where the Cohiba bands are properly copied.
