Bruce: Will have a look around if I can find all the stuff needed for smoking. I only kill what I will eat. Usually I stop fishing completely once Ive got enough for the day. Back home Id bring my loyal pit-bull in the boat. "We" catch enough to eat, then spend the rest of the day swimming, snorkeling, hiking etc. Good times Thanks for the info. Glad that they arent in "serious" trouble. Hope that wont change. Im all against trophy fishing. Same goes for hunting. Some of the worst are the "bottom scrapers" back home... The seabed is completely dead in the Baltic Sea, yet the r*tards continue scraping it, snagging even the youngest and tiniest cods. And the EU slaps them on the wrist and tells them "bad, very bad" and then nothing. The slogan is "we have to make our daily bread" - well, when there are NO fish, you might wanna pause and re-think the strategy. Never had store bought fish until I left Sweden... Another disgusting practice that comes to mind: Shark-fin industry. Must be one of the sickest that I know of.
Like Bruce said oily fish are great for smoking. We used to even smoke carp out of the creek that we would catch. And smoked trout is wonderful. Check this place out its on the North Shore of Lake Superior, its to die for. https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=211010434207
GONZO: Minnesota? Thats practically home for me(Sweden)! Looks awesome! Ive never heard of smoked carp - is it any good? That would be great to promote, as you would kill two birds with one stone: Food and getting rid of a pest.
