While researching airfare for May, I found something I thought was strange. If I book: USAIR - FLT 811 PHL -> CUN and return - FLT 812 CUN -> PHL the cost is $695 per person which is very high compared to what we normally pay for these two flights (great flight times for us). BUT if I drive an hour or so farther to the Baltimore airport I can get : USAIR FLT xxx BWI -> PHL then FLT 811 PHL - > CUN FLT 812 CUN - > PHL then FLTxxx PHL -> BWI the cost is $329. So If I fly into Philly from Baltimore, I can get the exact flights I want Philly to Cancun and back for over $350 cheaper. I just need to take the extra trip to and from Baltimore to get that rate. WTF?? I don't get it. BTW - The layovers in Baltimore are only 1 hr going and 2 hrs coming back. I can see what I have to do - just don't understand the logic involved in this pricing. Firm
