I hate to respond to threads where things get negative as to me TTR simply = fun amazing time. But I think dismissing the original posters post as being a poor swimmer or not taking personal responsibility, etc etc is wrong and several folks feel the need to go on the offensive as anytime anything negative is said it is almost taken as a personal attack. I get that, to some TTR is like a best friend (me included). I choose instead to take the original posters message and the subsequent ones as a warning to be careful. I am a very good swimmer and was seriously challenged in April to pull my wife back to the tow rope when a very inviting blue water turned out to have a current I had never experienced. We have learned from our experience and she won't be going in without a life jacket again. We take personal responsibility for that decision and just want others to be knowledgable in advance so they make fully educated decisions which I think was part of the original purpose. Can't wait to be back in October!
Really well put. They obviously got a scare, and felt the need to share - thats fine. CCC IS like a family, and that comes with a few downs, as well as LOTS AND LOTS of ups. Take things in perspective, be careful, and yes...personally it has acted as a reminder to be more aware on the Boobs Cruise. Now, where is the AIWC?!!
Don't get in the ocean while drunk. Solution. Besides, the salt water washes off the alcohol-infused whip cream, and that's not nearly as sanitary as having someone attractive lick it off. Just my $0.02. Plenty of opportunity to be naked ON the boat, AND be drunk.
Drew and Amanda (original posters) told me about this incident the day after it happened, and it was a truly scary experience for them. I believe their reason for this post was simply to warn people, so they don't have to go through the same thing. Even if it is the normal procedure for the crew to warn people, anybody who has been on a Boobs Cruise knows that by time it gets to the swimming part of the cruise, that there are a lot of people who are pretty drunk and could have easily missed the information. I don't think that what happened is anybody's fault, but it is something that can be avoided in the future, and it's a post like this that can make that happen. I would imagine that part of the reason Steve has the cruises running so well is because he has been willing to listen to what the people that have been on them have to say.
This is exactly right! The water looks so good and everyone is having so much fun and the naked thrill of everyone around jumping in, we knew we would regret it if we didnt, But not ten seconds after hitting the water we got clobbered by a series of waves and the fast realization that were not really the Pam Anderson and David Hasselhoff the 2 hours of drinking had us thinking we were, we couldn't get back in the boat fast enough.
I've been shopping... Drinks and nakid - Im ready!!! (although maybe I should get a 3rd one?!!:aktion061
This is exactly what I was trying to say! Next time I will tell you what I want to post and then you can post it :daveandmo: The Boobs Cruise was a great time and we will be on it again the next time we are there. NOW we know to wear life vests before skinny dipping and wanted to warn others of our experience. The floaties are a great idea, do they have them in adult size though??? I know my little kids floaties won't fit around my arms.
Oh gosh, the skinny dipping spot is close to the shore or least not too far. I remember the mild current was running toward the shore. What would I do when I ended up on the beach naked?
I suggest everyone watches the movie Open Water. Life vest or not if you can't swim why in the world would you jump in the ocean? If you buckled it wrong you drown.
Skinny dipping with a life vest defeats the purpose,, and swimming with one is harder, (good thing is your still alive to be picked up ). Like I said earlier keeping the flippers from snorkeling greatly increases your ability/ speed to swim, and you'll look good in the pictures. I won't go in without them, cause I would drown, lol. Can't wait to go do it again.
