For the folks that are "for" banning single guys because of a douchebag, what about if a douchebag become a problem in the following venues, should single guys be banned from there also? Family Resort Amusement Park Nightclub Zoo Church Concert Grocery Store There are many others, but you get the point. You could run into a drunk asshole anywhere. Douchebaggery exist everywhere, so if you have the misfortune of having to deal with one, deal with the situation as calmly as possible and then report it to the necessary authorities. They should be dealt with on a case by case basis, and once deemed "guilty" put on the DO NOT BOOK list. One last thing. I'm guessing that the folks from CCC represent a small percentage of the total number of guests that attend TTR on any given day, week, month, year. We get to see their trip reports and of course if there was a problem with a douchebag (single guy), it will be highlighted. What about all the other guests that didn't have such an experience? I'm thinking in the grand scheme of things, this problem is not as big as some make it out to be. I could be wrong, but the last time that happened was when I bet on the 2008 Patriots in the Super Bowl. LESSON LEARNED...lol Don't confuse me, I'm not saying that it didn't happen to the individual(s) reporting it.
Actually the logical thing to assume would be that the same percentage of people who don't trip report experience the problem as those that do post reports. There is no easy solution to the problem and there are those (the singles) who have extremely strong feelings about this issue so I expect the debate will continue forever. I have been on record as stating that I feel they should raise the age limit to 25 on single males and perhaps limit the number allowed in the resort at any time, but this is imperfect as well.
If 8 single guys travel together, assume they would book 4 rooms, 2 guys to a room. If 4 gay couples travel together, assume they would book 4 rooms, 2 guys to a room. How would the hotel booking system know the difference? How do you ban one without banning the other? And what's to stop a 40 single guy bachelor party from making 20 individual bookings instead of 1 group booking of 20 rooms? I'm not sure the best fix is restricting who can book or by adding security. I think it's the resort's responsibility and they have to start marketing themselves for what they are instead of for what they're not. Turn the volume way up, limit talking, keep your eyes on the TV and no high fives until everyone washers their hands
I would rather have the rare occasion of single men getting out of line then screaming kids poolside ANYDAY on my adults only vacation !!!!!
haha force them to kiss eachother to prove they're gay? The best answer is to have the security guys know and enforce the rules when people get out of line. Guests policing other guests is more likely to lead to animosity, tension and in some cases fights if the confronter doesn't know how to properly use tact. Obviously if your wife/girlfriend/friend is extremely uncomfortable or being accosted then there is a time and place for that. I get concerned when I read people saying that oh if those guys get out of line me and 3 other guys will set him straight. And often these comments are long before people even go to TTR! Even though no harm is intended, the offending guy, who let's face it is likely drunk because of the nature of the resort, is probably going to feel threatened. And drunk people when they feel threatened are more likely to lash out. The resort has trained bar staff, security etc. who are better suited to confront another guest who is out of line. We can't control how dumbasses are raised, but we don't need to add gas to the fire either.
Keith I am totally with you on this. That is why I like being me. I have a look about me that just walking up and standing there most times has the problem people just move away from the area and we can resume party! Most times one can defuse the situation with talking. And I am the above average in size which don't hurt either.
Bottom line... 99% of the clientele are mature adults looking to relax and have fun. I think eliminating singles would take some of the charge out of the TTR experience. We just all need to handle the 1% when it happens, with appropriate response.
Maybe we need to look at what promotes douchbaggery at an all inclusive... single's are usually chill until...? and dont get me wrong, we've seen plenty of douchebag single women too. "Honey, you aint no goddess, stripper, skinny bitch, and the ever present Woo girl"
