Great trip report, we went in November last year and were greatly disappointed with the reno, had been 7 or 8 times before reno so we were not expecting such drastic changes. Going again in May with a different mind set and see how it goes.
As a fellow single guy, this report is brillant . We had very similar first experiences by the sounds, and mine was 12 years ago! Went in November, and back again this November. Total agree on the preferences of company to go with. I had said I wouldn't go as a single guy again, but with such good friends there its hard to say no! Such a good summary for any singles considering taking the plunge.
As a "single guy" who has been to the resort three times now (though not since the remodel - that's coming!!!) I think this is entirely spot on. Especially the part about making friends with couples but respecting couple time etc.... When I've gone there generally weren't many single guys around so I would go and have a nice meal by myself - but I'm used to travelling alone so I don't find this "lonely" as much as "relaxing". I have never seen a bachelor or bachelorette party there before and the fact that this is now a thing is sort of terrifying. Still - can't wait for my next solo trip down!!! Great review - thank you.
