Going to Hidden Beach Resort with my bf for a few days to cut my 3 weeks stay at TTR between Christmas and New Year. He rates it highly...
We did our first ever c/o "resort" this summer. We have one about an hour NW of Houston. Didn't know what to expect, but learned that we really love being naked in a pool/hot tub. And keep in mind, the Desire resorts are truly clothing optional. I hear if she just goes topless, she'll be in good company.
Not close to Desire RM at all - actually HBR is about half way between Playa del Carmen and Tulum https://goo.gl/maps/sj5L8 - 1 hr south of Desire RM or about 1 hr 20min south of Temptation by car BTW - Hidden Beach Resort is smaller than Desire Pearl with only about 80 rooms and is a full nude all the time AANR type resort - yes nude even during dining - not in any way similar to Temptation, definitely not a party place ! The reason( lol! ) it is called Hidden Beach is that the beach right in front of the resort is unswimable, so if you want to swim in the ocean you have to put on a swimsuit and go next door to the El Dorado Seaside Suites to actually get in the ocean - lol
Went with a group of 4 couples about 5 years ago to Golden Parnassus, which is in Cancun on the hotel side. It was adults only, and some in our group were intimidated by the topless environment, regardless of what I told them. But in short, the entertainment was lousy, the food was not as good, and the service was horrible. So just making sure this resort would not be on your list of TTR alternatives.
Sorry...I stand corrected We stayed at Valentin and walked the beach and visited (snuck in to El Dorado for a drink) and remember walking past rustic dilapidated wooden sign for HBR. And we have stayed and walked beach at DRM. My memory got mixed up. We also have stayed in Tulum and at all 3 Secrets...so it is tough sometimes keeping the locations all straight. We have also taken the collectivos into Playa from all those resorts so you see all the resorts signage from the highway. Thank god for USA Transfers
In the DR try Blue Bay in Puerto Plata. Serious bargain, all inclusive, adults only. Mostly Brits and European when we were there last October. We might have been the only USA guests I'm pretty sure. Maybe the Europeans are keeping it a secret! 70 dollars a night! Topless in and around the pool area including pool bar. A nice walk way through a tropical jungle, maybe fifty yards, to white sand beaches. The beach bar is open all night. There is security guards and casinos nearby and free transportation. Lots of pretty girls and nice husbands and couples we met. As said earlier we were the only US at the time. and everyone was super nice and non judgmental. Not swinging but maybe swaying kind of vibe. Liberal minded, fun guests, and a great entertainment staff, just not quite as over the top as Temptation guests. All Adult resorts that allow topless are only as fun as the guests who visit, including Temptation. I can only speak for when we visited but it was lots of fun. If Temptation Fun is a 10, then Blue Bay Fun is a 6. But that's pretty cool and a really high mark from us. Until now, Temptation is the only resort we come back to over and over. But for the price, nice rooms, good food and entertainment, we have found anther favorite place in Blue Bay! You should take the time to look into it. Especially the low price makes the Blue Bay hard to beat.
It is an age thing. Can tell you minute precise details about vacations from the 80's.....but very fuzzy on trips from last few years.
