The Deluxe Ocean view is what we paid for the last two trips. I understand it as one of the rooms that would be in the front of the buildings, ocean facing (even though everything is technically angled). However, from my experience, they will actually try to not give you an ocean view. Both times, despite my room request on the booking and pre-check in, they tried to put us in the court around Patty-Os. When they showed the room number on the map, I was like no, that is not what I paid extra for. I think they play this little game where they try to give you a worse room and see what you will say. I bet a fairly good percent of people (especially 1st timers), just take what they try to give them. If you have to do some back and forth, and you are nice about it, they will actually give you a better room. Our last trip we ended up getting a first floor Jacuzzi room around the quiet pool. It was really sweet for only paying the ocean view price, but we did have to wait a couple of extra hours because it wasn’t ready. My advice to everyone is don't just settle if you don't think you are not getting what you paid extra for.
We booked January 6-12 for $38 per night around 10pm last night. I got a reservation confirmation email from Alpharooms at 10:03pm, and as of 12 hours later have not gotten a cancelation email. My fingers are crossed the reservation holds! For those who got the cancelation, what dates did you try to book?
There were 26 bookings made via my link in the space of a few hours, probably the same number again that didn't use my link that I cant see. 50 bookings all for a similar time frame probably used up everything available. Seems some are getting the unavailable message and others are not, no idea what criteria they use to decide.
We almost booked the weekend of the 8th thinking flights would be much easier and less expensive than the mlk weekend. Waited a little and now too late. Oh well. Wondering if those with that timing end up getting the rate or not. Keep us updated. Curious minds want to know!

something similar happened last year ( or 2 ? ) . TTR honored the reservations but made people sign some sort of disclaimer note admitting it was a mistake ,,,,
You are correct Donald! Happened 2 1/2 years ago - they did a stupid sale in the late spring of 2012 for fall dates, lots of us booked for Halloween for $44/night. Had to sign the paper.
