Immodium is good.. And I have learned that odd colored things exiting your body is perfectly normal there lol... Ear & throat infections were the big problems in April when we were there... Wife got an ear infection, and we both got this oral thrush that apparently comes from pool water. They dump so much chlorine in the pool to kill bacteria that it can't also kill what causes the thrush...
there is a mold issue at TTR as well. We had stomach and sore throat and respritory issue from the room.
Why does everybody want to make excuses for TTR. This sounds like a problem that originated in the kitchen. Reading back through these posts TTR was aware of this problem or some kind of problem. Whether it was in the kitchen, water supply or mold problem who knows. A flu virus that is passed along for a couple weeks, I doubt it. Kitchen problem - no excuses Water problem - tell people to quit drinking the fuckin water, not even brush your teeth with it.. Rinse glasses with steaming hot water, have you ever seen how they clean glasses. If it is a flu virus, I can see how it is spread ! Mold or air conditioning problem - The money this place makes the rooms should not even be damp. Update your shit !!!! I love this place as much as the next guy, but the love falls off real fast if If i'm pissing out my asshole
Jump, I agree with much of what you've said. The way glasses are "washed" at the bar, ZERO excuses! If the water system became contaminated lots of people could have become sick before a problem was recognized. As to the mold, that's a tuffy in such a hot and humid environment, a very very difficult to control. I believe the noro virus is a real possibility as are any of a number of similar bugs. A few years ago my Dr suggested that we take probiotic supplements that are available over the counter 2 weeks prior to going and for our entire stay so that's what we do.
Was at a »Riu resort in DR 10 ish years ago, the only way they stop it was to close the resort for a few days to stop the cycle. Two years ago a lot of us got sick too.
We both had stomach cramps and diahorrea, I popped to the chemist and got some treda pills I think they were called. What a god send, within 12 hours both of us were back to normal and didn't get ill again. Some friends took immodium which didn't work at all. Other than that Temptation was amazing... We were the two very white (even after two weeks!!) blondes

Bottled water only, House Keeping will replenish as needed and what you ask for. I don't believe the sickness issue is a water issue.
No, unlike every other all-inclusive in a country with suspect water they don't give you water. Yes, you get big bottle every day and if you want to buy another from the gift shop it's pretty cheap.
