I think it's calmed down. I started yacking and had a fever on my second day, but some Vontrol and a hit of Cipro took care of it and i was on the Boobs Cruise the next day with no issues.
Just had a call from enviromental health here in UK and they have confirmed I had the San Diego strain of salmonella and there have been a number of cases reported from people that have travelled to Mexico and vacated in various resorts in the last 3 months, so this is not just at TTR but widespread.
we just got back last night, and as far as we know, our whole group of June Junkies had no issues with "ass jabs" or anything other than too much alcohol or too much sun. It looks like whatever they had, they have fixed. We ate at every restaurant, and even had the carpatio at the Italian twice with no problems.
Im so glad to hear some positive news about not getting sick... I have about 75 days before I return for my 2nd trip, so I hope everything has calmed down.
Looks like it was related to Mexican cucumbers <insert phallic jokes here>. The CDC just announced the outbreak was over as of June 20th, at least in the states, so things should be cleared up at TTR in time for our end of July crew !!! same with us...there with another couple from 19th-25th; awesome time, ate at all restaurants, no symptoms--all GOOD!
It's always the salad! The biggest outbreak of Salmonella in our home town was traced to a local kebab shop - which was spotless - and the lettuce imported from Holland. Lettuce in a field. Fertlizer. Do I need to spell it out? Wash your salad folks! Or just stay away from the stuff. LOL :daisy:
