Not near as bad as falling and breaking your wrist after being at TTR for less than 5 hours. Worst part is having to actually decide what to do. Stay there, go home, go to the hospital. All at 11 PM at night after traveling most of the day. No matter what decision, it is always going to be the wrong one to someone who is not in your shoes. At least on this Website everyone has actually been to Cancun, on TA I really doubt any of the second guessers have ever left the US !!! On TA, we got so many really nasty responses, I just pulled the post. . We were told we were prejudiced because we assumed the Amerimed Hospital took American Insurance !!! We still laugh about that one. You always assume the worst and hope for the best and when they ask you how you feel at the Delta Desk at CUN, Just lie and say "I know it looks horrible, but it really doesn't hurt a bit" Really just a matter of making the best out of a bad situation. We were really PO'd after our Dec fiasco, but were right back in April. Katie has some really serious Medical tests this week, If everything works out we are probably coming back to TTR a bit early. Forget those Pico thongs, what about a Nano model!!!
Wife and i got phegran and lomitil just in case. Doesnt hurt to be pro active. Thanks to everyone for post . We will have fun
Actually, try being 7 months pregnant and on a Cancun vacation with your 2 kids/husband/friends and getting sick on your 2nd day of vacation and still having 8 days to go. Yep...I've been there and done that. The sickness started my contractions. Imagine my concerns about whether I should get medical attention for my un-born child....then leaving to head back home and my water breaks as soon as we board the plane. :icon_eek: I was just saying that if it happens---it will happen. We can take precautions but if I were to get sick, I'll just deal with it as best as I can. I'm not going to cancel our trip, refuse to go back, or be scared to continue with our plans.
We were there June 3 for a week and I got sick also. My husband didn't get sick though. Stool tests showed ecoli....It didn't spoil our trip though...great time...
Thank you for helping us put this into perspective. I remember last year in June it stormed pretty hard and flooded rooms, hallways, etc. and one of the employees who served our breakfasts and lunches told us his house was flooded. Couldn't tell because he didn't inform us until we started asking questions. I think sometimes we can be a little self-focused. I don't want to get sick, but there is some perspective taking that should be done. Thanks! ~Jill~
Looking like the illness issues have come to an end. Today's Boobs Cruise had 58 of 65 people show up which is about our usual rate. And not a runny bottom in sight
We were there from June 10-17. And no more than an hour of being at the resort a group of ten warned me and my wife about the food. And everyone that we talked to had at least one person sick in their crew. My wife was fucked up for about 3 days and is still not back to normal. After getting sick we only ate off the resort, and had to buy plenty of meds.. (It killed our so called budget). One of my new TTR friends said he got sick really bad after having a drink, so from that point on he only brought liquor from the shop down the street. From what I hear it was a very painful experience for those that had the "bug". Hope everyone gets well soon, and be safe for those that have a trip coming up
Apparently the illness is not only in Mexico. I also experienced sickness due to drinking tequila and beer. I think it's a slow moving bug because it took numerous shots before it affected me. *The above post is not intended as cruelty toward anyone who actually got sick from a bug at the resort*
