Nice! My wife is using Hibiscus flowers in her design too. She has always loved them. She is almost done and ready for the ink. She took her design in so the artist could ck it out, he recommended a few changes and was amazed she drew it all out, but that's what she does, very accomplished artist (hubby proud). On a side note I was really impressed with his work and went in last week and had my left arm redone and some added. Going in today to have my blown out, scarred back tattoo worked on.
My newphew is the tatoo artist! Been doing unbelievable drawings since he could hold a pencil in his hand. He is currently putting some kind of video together to submit to one of the INK shows!
I went last year and got my first one with my daughters. We decided to all get the Michigan State Flower, each picking a design of our own choice. Michigan is where the girls were born. I am a flower person and hope to get more, such as their birth flowers someday but my hubby is not a fan of tats. He was not happy at all when I got this one. I got it in a place so that the only ones who ever see it are boaters and sunny vacationers. I do not think many care for mine but I do not care. I love it and it has meaning. That is the most important thing about getting a tattoo. I see so many kids at 18 who cannot wait to get that tat that has been forbidden and do not put much thought into it. They are in the tat shop going through books. Another important decision is who is going to do the work. I am a nurse and ask everyone who did their tats. I want to know who is good and who to avoid. I live in a rural area but we had an excellent girl who moved to CA. Anyway, I went to St. Louis to get mine.
(wife) I haven't gotten mine yet. Turns out I need to have a small surgical procedure (nothing serious) that is scheduled for the 29th. Then I'll have to wait a couple of weeks to heal before I go in for my tattoo. But, I almost have my design ready! Since I have to postpone the real thing I will post a teaser pic of the artwork as soon as it's ready. 1st_Mate....mine too will be in a place no one will see except when I'm in a swimsuit.... or my birthday suit.
Tattoo sneak peak UPDATED! REVISED Design and approximate placement. My tattoo artist will have free reign to make improvements, and I have no doubt he'll come up with something beautiful. The basic concept is a tropical theme of hibiscus flowers and flowing water. If you're wondering, yes, the theme IS meaningful and personal to me. The initials of my children and grandchild's names will also be incorporated....and added to as more grandkids come along...I don't anticipate too many! The design will start very low on my abdomen left of my belly button and then wrap up and over to my right side and around my waist. Overall it'll be about 14 inches long. I can't wait!...but I have to. Damn.
