The size of the rooms and insulation are the big plus, the other items are minimum to pay extra for those rooms

Lol. I've always done the early check-in form, but skipped it last Halloween to see if there was a difference. There was. Fastest time ever between arrival and getting in my room
I've tried to upgrade on check-in from a Garden room to Bash and they wanted $500 for 7 nights in July when the resort was low occ. We took a pass, booked the Tower from the get-go for our April trip.
We always booked a jacuzzi room around the quiet pool. Very small upgrade compared to Garden View, and it guaranteed a good location in the resort. That being said, I wouldn’t really want one of those rooms on the far side of the quiet pool, if choice allowed. Free room service, the view, access it Sky Bar, and overall atmosphere is much better in a Bash Tower room, but that is even more of an upgrade. Depends on your price point, and what you’re looking for, but those would be my two suggestions.
This is us at Desire, we enjoy having a balcony and ocean view room over there. It's a completely different vacation for us there compared to when we go to TTR!
