One thing that I should have learned years ago is to NEVER get into a "pissing" fight about 2 things.......... 1) guns & gun control 2) abortion People see what the wanna see & hear what they wanna hear... AND don't confuse me with facts, either! :banghead:
Tracey, I agree with Gonzo that you needn't worry about coming to the U.S., if only because the risk to any given individual at any one point in time is almost zero. That comforts me, but wouldn't work for everyone. On the otherhand, the U.S. is literally bristling with guns. There is nearly one gun in private hands for every man, woman and child in the country, 88/100 population, while in England and Wales it's just 6/100, Scotland even less. http://www.smallarmssurvey.org/file...l-Arms-Survey-2007-Chapter-02-annexe-4-EN.pdf The law in the U.S. guarantees private gun ownership as a right: whether that's a good idea is another question.
is the notaria this happened at the one on the other side of Uxmal? You would have the surf shop, biscuits obregon and then the notaria?
That's it, John, right there. Happened around 7 PM. Anybody coming in or out of that Notario at that moment would have been at risk. Fortunately this type of thing doesn't happen often, here. I can only quickly remember one other, similar report since I came to Cancun, over three years ago, that one on Av Yaxchilan, in which automatic weapons were fired. _______________________
V, a lot changes in 3 years in gangland. In 3 more years it'll be worse-again, mark my words. This winter my trips up to Costco will be next to nil. As long is the cartel war doesn't spread to Puerto Morelos I'm happy. They'd have a tough time with our fishermen, lemme tell ya.
