Ladies can have open toed shoes or sandals. When they say no open toed sandals that's for gentleman. Unless they've changed the rules for the restaurants that require reservations man are asked to wear long pants and a buttoned shirt. This has been a long held discussion on here. Yes sometimes you can get in wearing smart casual at the restaurants depending on the night. The maitre d may allow you in, but if he decides that the way your dressed isn't up to snuff don't be offended because the dress code is on the website. And that's what he normally goes by. And unless it's changed on there then that's what I go by, linen pants and a button down short sleeved shirt. With closed toe sandals, after all when I've been in flip-flops all day pool side dressing up a little so I some what look as polished as she does doesn't hurt and I know she appreciates it. That's just my 2 cents worth.
Exactly , most women do get all dressed up the least the men can do is throw on a pair of pants for a couple hours. Have been there 10 times and it cools down enuf at night , never gave it a second thought. But I won't loose any sleep over it so if you must ........
In the reservation restaurants, they're looking for a little more elegant atmosphere...and they do send people not dressed to code away sometimes. It's very inconsistent, though. It wouldn't bother me if everyone came barefoot...but if my wife is going to smile as she walks down a flight or two or stairs and the length of the resort in stilettos and a tight skirt because she wants to look hot for me...I can damn sure don a pair of lightweight linen slacks for dinner. What would be even less considerate of me would be for me to show up in cargo shorts and flip flops...get sent back to the room to change...requiring my classy lady to walk those stilettos back up the stairs so I can change...or to leave her waiting alone because dressing nicely for her was too much to ask. It's not too much to ask to dress up for dinner. It doesn't matter to me what you wear...but I dress for my wife...not the TTR dress code.
I totally agree with you I dress for her as well because it compliments her outfit she's still the shining star as far as I'm concerned...when I said I follow the dress code I meant this is what is asked of me by the resort in these restaurants, really I'd do that even if they didn't have a dress code to be honest, and my lady likes it when I do. I'd be embarrassing her if I showed up as you said her dressed to the nines me in cargos and flip flops and being turned away cause the maître 'd said no not today. Of course I'd be running back to the room instead of walking to change, but that wouldn't happen as I always have a couple pair of linen pants packed to wear for dinner because I believe if she's making the effort to look hot for me I can reciprocate
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that OP was concerned about women's shoes not the very long an drawn out discussion about men and pants in the restaurants. Which has been beaten to death on this forum. I have never been offended by a women's footwear choice and I believe all are accepted
I believe its called a Segway,,, and true the subject has been beaten to death , but if you eliminate all'' beaten to death subjects'' this forum would die ( advertising revenue is based on hits/posts/ect) . so we have a bit of a conundrum I guess . The thing I have noticed over the last year is people are getting more polite about it , accepting each others dressing habits and Bubba mug size .
I am pretty sure they won't let you in, with a Segway. Too dangerous for the wait staff! You will have to park it outside the restaurant
