I've been diving this area for 20 years and it is actually pretty rare to even see a shark here. I've done shark dives - where you actually have 40 to 50 sharks swimming all around you in a feeding frenzy - and never felt threatened (that is actually me in the picture behind the shark, in my avatar). IMHO, sharks have gotten a bad rap. Attacks are rare and usually a case of confusion. This story doesn't make me feel any less safe swimming, snorkeling, or diving here.
I agree with ya Kris. I certainly won't alter my habits due to this "report" at all. I've seen sharks while diving and they seem in such a hurry to get away from me when they spot me that it's almost insulting!LOL! Michelle
