I say go for it! My last name is actually Scottish, a clan from Wick. I had one with the family colours on it, and I wore it to a Haloween party about 10-11 years ago, if full Scottish regallia, sporran high socks etc...the only "un-authentic" part of my costume was my West Ham Hammers Tshirt (Luv my Hammers!) Anyway, after a few pints of the foaming ale at my my favorite local at the time, the now closed Maple Leaf Inne, this lady came up to me and asked: "Sir, what do Scootsmen wear under their kilts?" I Told her to check it out for herself and stick her hand up underneith my kilt! She did, and quickly pulled her hand back out exclaming "Sir, that is GRUSOME!." I replied "Stick your hand up there again in's grew some more!
Absolutely. I am taking mine subject to luggage allowance (I did suggest that Gail reduced her shoe quota to accommodate - BIG mistake!)
Haha brilliant, I bet Everytime she sees someone wearing the kilt she'll remind of you.. West ham eh! Paolo di canio played for them, good player when he was at celtic ( my team) You don't want to visit wick it's freezing up there
Does anyone know a good place to buy a fairly good kilt and a really good price? I want one for our April trip but everything I see is a couple hundred bucks.
To answer your question, yes you can get a lightweight kilt. I call it my drinking kilt that I wear to Scotland football games. You can see a pic of me in my profile wearing it. See what you think, they do the job at a low price.
