Oh I bet! It's definately in my plans to get certified, but I doubt I'll be able to do that here in Canada before I leave for my trip. Can I get the certification there? How much does it cost? My buddy and his girlfriend were in cancun last year and did the cenotes and said it was an amazing experience! Can't wait!

Hey there, used to own a dive shop here in Ohio with my ex-husband! Make sure to take your classes at home and take a referral with you to Cancun and you can do your actual open water dives there to get your certification! Takes a lot less time, usually only one day to do a refresher and a day to do your actual open water dives, good luck, happy diving! And yes, I agree with the Captain, Cozumel is awesome, have dove there on at least 20 trips.........Hope this helps!

What part of Canada are you in?

Like TOPH says... get PADI certified for sure, training in fresh water vs salt water is a big difference. The last place you want to learn something new is 30' under in Mexico lol
