That sucks. Chaos Crew in Nov mainly congregate around the right-hand side of the sexy pool bar. A couple of us (kindly) reserved 2 chairs right next to the bar early in the morning (backing on to the premier beach area), where 6-10 CCC peeps stored their stuff. So now they say not only is that area 'off limits', there's no 'shade' areas on the beach either?? Damn that was my escape place when I wanted to have a sleep during the day. Soon we'll be moving the party over to 'quiet' section, and making our own games up. I pay a lot of money to go to TTR each year. Premier will never work for us because of the cost of the flights. Making us feel like they don't want our money any more.
If no one uses the chairs they open them up partway through the morning from what I observed. They have a tough job trying to keep everyone happy, the non-member who may or may not be multi-time repeaters and the member who has put down in some cases a lot of money and expects some perks. Some things come and some things go in terms of services offerred just keep on filling out comment cards etc. They can't improve service if you don't let them know what you want to see.
What happens if you're already sitting in that chair at 6am? Do they make you move? What if you move every single chair 'up one space' and plonk yours down at the end of the row? If you can't tell, this premier seating thing annoys me
They put the towels out at 6am but they put a rope through them before 9pm. In reality they do have them spoken for already. Also there are easily 100 or so chairs around the pool, probably more. That particular location may be not be available but in the scheme of things is it really a big deal? Like I said before, the have a tough task trying to keep everyone happy. From time to time there are going to be a few things which irk anyone.
I like the cubby holes idea or small lockers even. Most of the time our pool chairs just end up being a place to dry our towels and hold our sunscreen.
In April - there were an easy 30-more chairs around the pool than our trip 6-months prior. They filled in a bunch of gaps, have them 2 to 3 deep in a lot of places as well. Plenty of availability prior to 8am and the resort was 100% sold out. Roping off 10 chairs for Premier is not a big deal - its less than 10% of the available chairs around the pool. Those chairs were full everyday. Tons of non-premier seating on the beach as well - although they do get the shady beds closest to the Sexy pool.
They were reserved all day. Most of the time, but not all a premier member eventually sat in them. As for the rope. It covered chairs 1-8. They then moved our stuff which we placed at 5:45 am on chairs 11/12 to a table. When we came out about 8:30 they explained the situation to me and said I would have to find 2 new chairs. There were not any available. They asked if they could set two up for us on the end. From experience I know that area gets rather congested. Instead I offered $10 to let us stay, figuring they were missing out on tips and not wanting to miss the fun by having to sit on the beach. We spend a good portion of the day in the chairs. The rest of the week we just got chairs in other non-premier locations at 6:30. That way the premier would already be flagged and there were still plenty to choose from. Really not a big deal. And I agree with Chris. There were more chairs out this time. Extra rows at the end that is closest to the sports pool. I think you could still get a chair if you arrived before 8. Not ideal but better than 6am.
They must rotate the chairs cause in 2011/04 they had the same chairs. In 2003 they had Bistro tables at the far end close to the Buffet. They were great for sitting at. Phot0 is from 2011/04 ,,
