I just keep valuables in the room. All the rooms are less that a 2 minute walk from the pool...so leave your valuables back at the room. For tips, I just tip early in the day, after lunch and before I leave. that way, I have no money and if I do, it is only relatively small amounts.
Don't get me wrong about getting up early either. when I get to the pool, I'm there for the day. Be it 5, 6 AM whatever, I'm there in the chair or in the pool so stop by and say hi. One thing they did start last year which I thought was great was that if you dropped your stuff before 6 AM and left, they pulled your stuff and took it to the front desk. They don't tell you that and almost got into a fight with someone that thought I dumped their stuff to take their chairs.. once it got sorted though we hung out together the rest of the vacation. . Really nice couple! And yeah, I'm usually the towel bitch saving several chairs, but as folks have said, always less chairs then number of people in the group as we tend to hot bunk the chairs (if you're in the pool someone else is in your chair) or share the chairs (nice way to snuggle during the day). So if you want to be sure to have a chair where you want it, get up early, or befriend a towel bitch. And I agree don't get a chair and go back to bed... At least one of you needs to be there or just hot bunk with someone else when you fanilly do make it to the pool. I have noticed in the pictures lately that they are doing the fancy beds around the sports pool lately. Might have to check that out as an alternative. Jamie
This is what you will see if you want a chair at 6 am Its worth getting up, I sit and sleep by the pool all day and see so many empty loungers all day cause people are either sleeping or in the pool .TTR Cabo has recently implemented a no reserve rule that works great .
This is so beautiful! Only 4 more sleeps for me until I'm there. I could literally cry because I need this holiday so bad and the thought of the pools, weather, white sand and beaches is almost unbearable at this stage! Oh and of course getting to sample Steve's cruise for the 1st time on the 15th!
I agree with everything Jamie said. I too am the towel bitch and get up early and spend time down there. We hotbunk the chairs as I just don't have it in me to save 20 chairs that I would watch unused most of the day. I now save one per couple except for a couple of couples who don't make it down until noon. They have to make due with whatever is available. It also seems like the towel bitch is a common practice and much under appreciated. I see the same folks down there every morning.
Saving chairs for people who dont use them is selfish. They are there for eveyboby to use. I hate getting up early on vacation. the big groups that save ten or more and nobody sits in them pisses me off! last resort we visited people sat their stuff on them. and you never seen them
I too, am also a towel bitch, lol but but only a small # of chairs, and for people who are down there early, just not as early as me, And only so we are all close, and ya more people than chairs, the group share thing. Nothing like sunrise, poolside in Cancun, snoozing waiting for the pool to open so I can dip my head. Crap, I can't wait to go back!
CAN YOU PLEASE BOOK YOUR TRIP SOON,:mnm: I NEED YOU "TOWEL BITCH" I agree with Glenn, Vince being the towel bitch gets harder for me every year. Remember the days when I used to run lapping the pools. God if only I had that energy again.
I dunno, I just don't have it in me to get up or send someone at dawn to scramble for chairs, or "reserve" them for the day. Of course, I'm easy to spot, I'm the guy that always sits on the edge of the pool all day, right in front of the towel-holding chairs. Life's too short to sweat that stuff.
I guess I'm also a so called "towel bitch", but it's nice to have a chair at the pool. Just don't be a hog. We usually get a few and share. 3 or 4 chairs can be shared with a lot of friends because your going to be in the pool or elsewhere most of the time.
