I'm with you on this. We never reserved a chair. Some days we found some open and the others we just stayed in pool and stood at bar. Seems a bit childish to me.
I say we put an end to this silliness! Throw the towels away! Off with the towels! LOL It should be "first person come, first person served" a pool chair, not first towel come, first person served. I don't have much respect for towels holding chairs for hours, when there is no one in sight, not talking about someone who has left their chair for a few minutes to get a drink, or use the bathroom, or even to go eat lunch. For all I know, it might've been left there last night. My brighteyed, bushy-tailed, early morning presence at poolside for a day full of enjoyment while you are still hours away from waking up trumps your towel, sorry.
WolfnBlu, I can assure you that the towel reserving chairs business isn't going away. It has been that way since Blue Bay, and even if every person from CancunCare decided to do away with the process, it would still continue. Check the archives, this has been a discussion point for years. When they clean the pool at nt. they pick up anything that has been left from the day before, so the towels are from people who have gotten up early and left them. If you read the earlier posts in this thread, you will see that trumping someones towels only causes problems and no-one comes to TTR to deal with problems. Besides, if you get up that early, you will find empty chairs anyway. Sometimes swimming against the current gets you nowhere.
I agree with you hedoaddict, that is the way it is.. our first trip it didn't take us long to figure out how things worked, mind you the place wasn't full and we didn't have a problem getting chairs, but since that year we always have a problem. So we are going to try the T-Shirt idea... some people don't care about the chairs, however we are the type of people that want to spend all day.. from 9 - 5 at the pool, we like to watch and read our books. I wish it could be first come first served but it is the way it is.
Your spot on guys. We went in May this year and the resort was full. There was only second row chairs left by 10am and there wasn't many of them. At the endof the day if your not bothered about having a chair, don't get up early for one but we like to relax on ours in between the fun and games at the pool so we get up and put our towels down. It's never going to stop and it happens worldwide at most hotels when they are full xxx The difference with us is we actually use our chairs and share them with many other cpls lol x
I disagree, with not letting people save chairs. I get down early every morning and save a couple chairs. If you want to sleep till late too bad so sad, But on the other hand I use the chair all day...I do hate the people that save chairs and don't use them. Its like that at every resort The early bird get the worm....In other words get your lazy asses up and enjoy the party..Cause you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning...lol :lotsofmichaelfs::lotsofmichaelfs: Hey Les..If we drink all night and into the next day and forget what happened on Monday that makes a good day, can't wait till next year :mnm:
We can confirm that they do actually sleep on their beds from about 4am... still too funny when we found you at 7am in the morning lol. Can't wait to see you guys next year - we're booked from May 1st xxx Lynfa x
I agree with you, but its still a pisser when you go down at 6:30 am and they are all taken... and yes we've seen the loungers that someone has reserved and haven't used all day. Oh well what ya do... here for a good time and hope for a long time... do not want to waste time getting pissed off. Find a place on the beach and go up and sit in the pool for the fun stuff. Its all a party. Don't sweat the small stuff.:xyxthumbs:
I think the entire idea of saving chairs sucks. If you're not by or in the pool you shouldn't take a chair that someone else wants. That being said, we were there in May for the first time and never got a chair and still had the time of our lives. So damn hot, the water was the better spot anyway. Not to offend, just my opinion.
